Mr. Jackson - Adopted

Border Collie Mix

Meet Mr Jackson. He is a 10 year old senior Border Collie mix whose interests include cuddling, short walking, short hiking, belly rubs and sitting down at your feet. He loves treats and mental stimulation, so his family will need to provide him with some training to keep his mind and body healthy. This sweet boy is house trained, is leashed trained, has a few basic commands down, he gets along well with people, children, most dogs, and cats.

He has a low prey drive. Jackson likes to cuddle with you or lay down with you, wherever you may be or whatever you may be doing. He is a lover, not a fighter! He is a very sweet dog and is making up for lost time of 10 years not knowing love. Mr Jackson wants to be near his humans for attention.

Jackson will be happiest when he can be a part of his person's daily activities. His family will need to be sure that Jackson feels like he is part of a close knit group. He is neutered, micro chipped, vaccinated, licensed and has a complete health workup. Mr Jackson is still trying to grow his fur on his body from the neglect he was rescued from. Due to his severe abuse and neglect his teeth, skin and ears have some permanent damage. Jackson will always need to be watched for a recurrence of his lyme disease which is easily detected and treated with a cheap antibiotic. He will go home with his new family with all his medical records and DNA test results.
